Affordable Internet in Pakistan: PTA Launches District-Level Licensing Program
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has recently unveiled a transformative initiative aimed at expanding internet access throughout the country: district-level internet licenses. Announced during a briefing to the Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology, this strategic move is designed to enhance connectivity, make internet services more affordable, and foster competition among local service providers.
