Robotic Vacuum Market Set for Explosive Growth as Dreame Eyes Untapped Global Demand
Dreame President Says Low Penetration and Memory Shortage Trends Could Fuel Next Growth Wave
Despite fierce competition in the smart home appliance sector—strong enough to push at least one US rival into bankruptcy—Dreame Technology says the global robotic vacuum cleaner market is far from saturated and is entering a new phase of expansion.
Meng Jia, president of Dreame’s robotic vacuum division, said global demand remains largely untapped, with market penetration below 10% in China and under 20% overseas. According to Meng, these figures highlight significant room for growth as technology improves and consumer awareness rises.
“The robotic vacuum category hasn’t fully realised its potential in terms of user experience,” Meng said, describing the industry as still being in its “ascent stage.”
Europe Leads as Premium Demand Surges
Europe currently stands as Dreame’s largest market, followed by China and the United States. Meng attributed Europe’s dominance to consumers’ openness to advanced technology, with more than half of Dreame’s European revenue coming from premium models priced above 1,000 euros (US$1,174).
In contrast, China remains the world’s most competitive robotic vacuum market, where the 3,000 to 4,000 yuan (US$568) price segment accounts for around 50% of Dreame’s domestic sales.
Supply Chain Pressures Add New Challenges
Industry observers note that ongoing memory shortage issues across the consumer electronics sector could influence production costs and innovation timelines, making efficient supply chain management a key factor in the next growth cycle.
Outlook: Growth Continues Despite Headwinds
Meng remains confident that robotic vacuum sales will grow steadily over the coming years, driven by low penetration, rising smart-home adoption, and continued product innovation—even as competition and memory shortages reshape the market.
