Also introduces a 16-inch ultra-portable model with new “dual-AI” features
LG has officially announced a new addition to its gram lineup, claiming the title of the world’s lightest 17-inch laptop with a discrete Nvidia RTX GPU. Revealed ahead of CES 2026, the new LG gram Pro 17 (17Z90UR) focuses on portability, productivity, and light gaming — all in a surprisingly slim design.
LG gram Pro 17: Big Screen, Lightweight Design
The LG gram Pro 17 features a 17-inch 2560 × 1600 display, but it’s built into a chassis typically reserved for 16-inch laptops. This makes it especially appealing for users who want a larger screen without sacrificing portability.
A major highlight is LG’s first use of “Aerominum” material in the gram series. According to the company, this advanced material significantly reduces weight while maintaining the durability needed for everyday use, travel, and long work sessions.
RTX 5050 GPU Targets Creators and Casual Gamers
Powering the laptop is an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 memory. LG positions the device as ideal for content creation, productivity, and immersive viewing, rather than hardcore gaming.
While the RTX 5050 should handle 1080p gaming and graphics-intensive tasks comfortably, users may need to lower settings to achieve smooth performance at the laptop’s native resolution. This makes the gram Pro 17 better suited for entry-level to mid-range gaming, photo/video editing, and creative workflows.
Limited Availability
LG confirmed that the gram Pro 17 will be available exclusively in North America, making it a regional flagship for the brand’s ultra-light premium lineup.
With this launch — and the teased 16-inch gram model featuring “dual-AI” functionality — LG is clearly doubling down on lightweight performance laptops designed for modern, mobile-first users.
