"Amma-bi, should I bring your breakfast he-" Shahina's sentence left incomplete when she spotted a man in her room. It was Yawar, standing near the mirror, combing his hair. As soon as their eyes met through the mirror, a smirk formed on his face, and he turned around.
"Bring mine here too. I will eat with her." He said, sitting next to Amma-bi on her bed, and circled his arms around her shoulders.
"What do you want to eat?" Amma-bi asked, gently patting his arms. And for some reason, Shahina didn't like it, but still, she chose to stay composed.
"She knows." Yawar put his head on her shoulder, while his gaze was continuously upon her, keenly watching her every movement.
"How does she know?" Amma-bi asked, turning to Shahina, and she abruptly averted her eyes.
"I told her last night, Amma-bi."
"Last night? When?" Surprised, Amma-bi tried to look at Yawar's face, but he held her firmly.
"When she made tea for me." Upon this, Shahina received a questioning look from Amma-bi. However, instead of asking her anything, she questioned Yawar.
"When did you arrive last night?"
"After midnight." Yawar answered plainly, and Shahina saw Amma-bi's face turning towards her once again. Meaning she will be explaining a lot of things later.
Shahina took a deep breath and walked out of Amma-bi's room. She wanted to slam her head on a wall. What was she thinking when she asked him to stay for Amma-bi? He always created problems for her, so why did she think that this time would be any different? She was especially furious at the lie he told Amma-bi about breakfast. They never discussed anything about his meal. Not knowing how to take out her anger, she just stomped down to the kitchen.

"Yawar told me that you stayed awake to meet him that night."
Shahina's head snapped towards Amma-bi when she asked it out of nowhere. Her health was better than before, and she was more composed now. It was because of Yawar's frequent visits in the past weeks or something else, she didn't know. Shahina was just happy because of her recovery.
"Answer me, beta (child)."
"I wanted to know about Moosa Bhai." She answered, averting her eyes.
"And?... You didn't request him to meet me?"
Shahina clenched her fist, thinking about how much truth Yawar had told Amma-bi and what part of it he made on his own.
"I am sorry, my child, I made you do something out of your character. Not only did I make you worry, but you dealt with Yawar because of me. I know how handful he can be."
"Don't apologize, Amma-bi, it was my own decision to request him."
"What else did he say?"
"Ji (yes)"
"What else did Yawar say to you?"
"Nothing, Amma-bi. He just asked me to make breakfast for him."
"That's it?" Shahina nodded in response, and Amma-bi stopped her inquiry.
"Yawar called me an hour ago to inform me that they found Moosa. But due to him being severely injured, Ahad and Yawar want to keep it a secret from Mahnoor for now." It took a few moments for Shahina to register what she heard, and when she did, her eyes got wet. As if her unheard prayers were suddenly answered. She wanted to smile, but her tears wouldn't stop flowing from her eyes.
Moosa was her benefactor, her mentor, someone she would be thankful for all of her life. He was the one who brought her soulless self to life, and if at some point she had to give her own life for him, she would do that gladly.
Watching Shahina cry like a kid, Amma-bi stood up from her seat and patted her head, "Moosa would've been sad seeing his little sister crying like that. So, stop and thank Allah for his safety."
Shahina nodded and wiped her tears. Now she will be looking forward to the time when her beloved brother comes back home.
