“I missed you.” Yawar’s whisper was the loudest sound Shahina has ever heard. She raised her head but didn’t find a hint of playfulness in his eyes. Her senses shut down, and the only thing that came to her mind was to run, and that’s what she did. After entering her room, she locked the door, as if he would come inside. She tried to calm herself but failed miserably as her breaths were still shallow and her body was still trembling. Shahina wasn’t frightened right now, yet she was unable to name this overwhelming feeling.
Yawar’s voice kept echoing in her mind, and his existence still lingered around her. Shahina felt like this once before, not long ago, when Yawar confronted her in the gym. Back then, and now, she found herself being trapped by his presence for days.
‘I’ll go mad very soon.’ Shahina mumbled, still holding the doorknob.
Her hands were already full because of her family, and now this strange behavior of Yawar’s was making things worse for her. Shahina sat down on the floor and closed her eyes.
Is this a new way of torturing me???
She wanted to ask Yawar, but couldn’t gather the courage to do so.
Shahina wanted to focus on her university admission test right now. However, it seemed like a far-fetched dream, as Samreen kept bothering her about what had happened the other day, and that was the reason she switched off her phone. Shahina couldn’t explain anything, even after understanding her sister’s doubts about her lifestyle. It was no less from the elite class, she wore banded dresses, travelled in luxury cars, and had a driver. A driver who carried a gun and possessed the abilities of a well-trained bodyguard, which was seen clearly when Shahina flew from her family’s house.
Shahina was also aware of the talks in the college about her, as to why she chose a government college instead of studying in a prestigious institution. According to rumors, she was an arrogant girl with a mysterious background. And some believe that Shahina was a daughter of a wealthy broken family, some said that she was suffering from some sort of trauma. Every mind had its own assumptions, but only the staff knew that she belonged to the Black Eagles, and surely Samreen could’ve heard everything.
“The decision will always be yours.” Shahina recalled the conversation she had with Natasha, “Whether you wish to stay with or live with your parents. You are, and you will always remain a part of our family. Our love for you will never change. So don’t hesitate and make a decision, and there is no need to rush. But don’t avoid your family, it will make things hard for them. Even if you wish to stay here, it is your responsibility as a daughter and as a member of Black Eagle that the concerns of the family will be addressed. Unlike others, you are a girl, a young girl, and in our society, families appreciate it if their daughters live with them.”
Even after talking with Natasha and thinking for all these days, she couldn’t convince herself to go back to her family. Shahina realized long ago that there would be a time when she had to leave the Main House and choose a different path because no matter how much she tried, it was impossible for her to join the Black Eagles in any way. It was not just her personality, but she never thought that she had to make this decision in such a manner.
What will you do, Shahina?
